Getting to campus

Public transport is the most convenient way to get to campus, especially during busy times.

Bus

There are frequent bus services between the city centre and campus. The 18, U18, 18b, X18 and U10 services all start and terminate at the centre of campus.

Bath Bus Station is located on Dorchester Street, to your left as you exit the train station. Buses to the University stop opposite the bus station. A bus journey from the train station will take 10-15 minutes. Stops are also located on Corn Street, near Bath Abbey and at the base of Bathwick Hill.

Taxi

There are many taxi companies operating in Bath. Taxi ranks are located in front of the train station, next to the Abbey and at the University itself.

Walking and cycling

You can walk or cycle from town to campus on North Road, Bathwick Hill or Widcombe Hill.

All three routes are a steep uphill climb and it will take 25-30 minutes to walk from the bottom to the top.

The National Trust's Bath Skyline walk is a longer but more scenic way to walk between the University and the city centre.

Parking on campus

Visitor parking is available on campus. Capacity is very limited, especially during events and building works. Latest information on car parking on campus. All visitor parking is Pay & Display.

You can access visitor car parking by the main entrance on Claverton Down Road, turning onto Norwood Avenue. Check the car park map for details of where car parks are located.

Getting to the city of Bath

Bath is located in southwest England and has excellent public transport links to other cities.

Train

Bath Spa railway station (BTH) has frequent services from London, Bristol and South Wales, allowing connections to the rest of the UK.

Visit National Rail for timetables, fares and cheap advance tickets.

On open days, there will be student ambassadors posted at the station to direct you to buses and taxis.

Coach and bus

National Express runs direct services daily between London Victoria, Heathrow airport and Bath.

You can plan your journey by bus or coach using Traveline South West.

Air

Our nearest airport is Bristol International Airport. There are also regular connections by rail or coach from London Heathrow.

Parking in Bath

There are a number of car parks in the city centre. Limited on-street parking is also available and is Pay & Display.

Park and Ride services to the city centre are also available in Newbridge, Lansdown and Odd Down.
