We have built partnerships with a wide range of international organisations through our work in business, higher education and research. Many of these have been active for a number of years and have achieved excellence in their fields.

AirbusAirbus UK

The partnership between Airbus and the University of Bath has been delivering industrial impact for over ten years. Research is focused on technologies that deliver more efficient wings for passenger aircraft, working with the Aerospace Engineering Research Centre.

Ford Ford

We have been working with Ford for 25 years. The outcome of this long-term collaboration with researchers from the Powertrain and Vehicle Research Centre is significant impact on national CO2 emissions resulting from engine improvements in everyday passenger cars.

RBRB

The Centre for Pain Research has been working with RB for six years, on how to improve analgesics by understanding their effects on pain, cognition, and emotion. This valuable collaboration has impacted on how people make sense of pain and how they use analgesics.

Western Power Distribution Western Power Distribution

We have worked with Western Power Distribution, the UK's largest distributed network operator, for over ten years. Alongside the Centre for Sustainable Power Distribution they are exploring the future development of the electricity network to address Government targets of 80% carbon reduction by 2050.

GW4 GW4 - South West research alliance

GW4 brings together the South West and Wales’ four leading, research-intensive universities. Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter Universities are collaborating through their research to address the key global challenges for the benefit of society and the economy.

Tsinghua University Tsinghua University

Our Faculty of Engineering & Design has agreed a faculty partnership with Tsinghua University, one of China's top institutes. The agreement allows research engagement, exchanges between PhD students and the development of scientific workshops.

Colciencias Colciencias

We have signed an agreement with the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (Colciencias), a Columbian funding council supporting research in Columbia and Bath. Colciencias students can now benefit from reduced Bath PhD fees plus further funding from the council. The University of Bath is the only University in the UK with an agreement of this type.

Conacyt has responsibility for the development of science and technology and innovation in Mexico, and provides financial support for research, and for students wishing to undertake PhD and Masters-level programmes in Mexico and abroad. Bath has had an agreement with Conacyt since 2008 which offers a discount for PhD students and also includes provision for six-month fellowships of staff (inbound and outbound). Currently Bath is one of 22 UK HEIs to have this type of agreement.

DIKTI (Indonesian Ministry of Education Directorate of Higher Education) DIKTI (Indonesian Ministry of Education Directorate of Higher Education)

The University of Bath is taking part in the Indonesia-UK DIKTI Scholarship Programme which allows lecturers in Indonesia to come to study for their doctorate at leading universities in the United Kingdom.

FAPESP São Paulo Research Foundation

We have an agreement with the São Paulo Research Foundation, Brazil (FAPESP) for the exchange of researchers between the State of São Paulo and the University. It is one of a number of new funding schemes aiming to provide support to academics wishing to collaborate with international partners.
