Partnerships
We have built partnerships with a wide range of international organisations, through business, higher education and research. Many of these have been active for a number of years and have achieved excellence in their fields.
These are some examples of partnerships that we have developed over a number of years, and new collaborations that we continue to establish:
Airbus UK
The partnership between Airbus and the University of Bath has been delivering industrial impact for over ten years. Research is focused on technologies that deliver more efficient wings for passenger aircraft, working with the Aerospace Engineering Research Centre.
Ford
We have been working with Ford for 25 years. The outcome of this long term collaboration with researchers from the Powertrain and Vehicle Research Centre is significant impact on national CO2 emissions resulting from engine improvements in everyday passenger cars.
Reckitt Benckiser
The Centre for Pain Research has been working with Reckitt Benckiser for 6 years, on how to improve analgesics by understanding their effects on pain, cognition, and emotion. This valuable collaboration has impacted on how people make sense of pain and how they use analgesics.
Western Power Distribution
We have worked with Western Power Distribution, the UK's largest Distributed Network Operator, for over 10 years. Alongside the Centre for Sustainable Power Distribution they are exploring the future development of the electricity network to address Government targets of 80% carbon reduction by 2050.
Universidade de São Paulo
We have established a partnership witht the leading university in Latin America, the Universidade de São Paulo. Collaborating in this way demonstrates our strong commitment to internationalisation and allows us to explore research and teaching links.
Shandong University
Shandong University is one of the largest universities in China, and one with which we have had a rewarding partnership for a number of years. Our association has led to student exchanges, staff visits and research links.
Stellenbosch University
The Stellenbosch University in South Africa is ranked among the best business schools in the world. The partnership we have developed gives our MBA students opportunities for international syndicate and project work and to is part of our Global MBA Residencies programme.
Tsinghua University
Our Faculty of Engineering & Design recently agreed a faculty partnership with Tsinghua University, one of China's top institutes. The agreement will allow research engagement, exchanges between PhD students and the development of scientific workshops.
GW4 - South West research grouping
In January 2013 we announced a formal collaboration with the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter to bring together a high concentration of research expertise and capability in the South West of England and Wales.
São Paulo Research Foundation
We have an agreement with the São Paulo Research Foundation, Brazil (FAPESP) for the exchange of researchers between the State of São Paulo and the University. It is one of a number of new funding schemes aiming to provide support to academics wishing to collaborate with international partners.
