Our Programmes
Our international reputation for the education of holistic-thinking graduates in the built environment is based on the simple philosophy that if architects and civil engineers are to work together then they ought to be educated together.

Undergraduate
- We develop architects who have demonstrated a profound flair for innovative design of buildings, looking to structure and environmental control to inform their design.
- We produce creative civil engineers with a profound technical understanding across the breadth of civil engineering, able to lead projects informed by their holistic outlook on design.
- We achieve this balance in both disciplines through a series of joint design projects across all degree programmes, and through the first semester of first year being entirely joint between architecture and civil engineering.
- We believe passionately in Placements in Practice, and both our architecture and civil engineering degree programmes offer this feature.
- Our teaching of architecture is rated ‘Excellent’ and our teaching of civil engineering is rated at 22 out of a possible 24 points.
- Our undergraduate architecture programmes are fully accredited by ARB/RIBA, and our undergraduate civil engineering programmes are fully accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators
Graduate
- We offer a suite of taught MSc programmes, each of which reflects industrial need, underpinned by our research excellence.
- We offer PhD programmes by research and by design, as well as three named MPhil research programmes.
A number of scholarships are available.
