The architecture degree offered at the University of Bath has been named at the best in the country by the Complete University Guide this week.
The University of Bath, named last autumn as the Sunday Times University of the Year, was ranked tenth in the country overall by this week’s table.
The University has an international reputation for its education of holistic-thinking architecture graduates. Professor Tim Ibell, Head of the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, said: "Through the degree at Bath we work to develop architects who have a profound flair for innovation, while looking to structure and environmental control to inform their design."
"The architecture degree is taught alongside civil engineering, allowing our students to have access to, and to benefit from, the expertise and teaching skills of leading academics and practitioners in the field of structural and environmental engineering, as well as architecture."
"We also believe passionately in our placement programme, which gives our students an opportunity to develop a strong tie between study and practice. This connection is vitally important, architecture is a fundamentally vocational subject and students must be able to apply the theory they are taught in an industrial setting."
Professor Dame Glynis Breakwell, Vice-Chancellor, said: "This performance recognises the hard work of all colleagues in the University’s Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering to provide our students with a great all round experience while they are here and the best chance of success in future life."
The architecture degree programmes offered at the University of Bath are fully ARB/RIBA accredited.
