Public lecture by world renowned Colombian architect Simón Vélez

The BRE Centre for Innovative Construction Materials in the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering at the University of Bath is delighted to host a public lecture by world renowned Colombian architect Simón Vélez on the 22nd May in building 3 East room 2.1, 16.15 for 16.30 start.

Simón Vélez has gained international renown for his use of bamboo as the main structural material of several buildings and bridges around the world. Among them, the world largest structure of bamboo (Zócalo, México city), an ecoresort in China and the Colombian pavilion for Expo Hannover 2000.

Simón's presentation will draw on his vast past experience using bamboo in Colombia and worldwide.
