Dr Giorgia Giardina

PhD, MSc

Lecturer in Structures with expertise in damage assessment, soil-structure interaction, seismic vulnerability, experimental and computational modelling.

Biography

Giorgia Giardina is a lecturer in structures and a member of the BRE Centre for Innovative Construction Materials (BRE CICM). Prior to joining the University of Bath, she worked as a Research Associate in the Structures Group at the University of Cambridge. She completed her PhD in Structural Mechanics at the Technical University of Delft and she obtained her Environmental Engineer degree from the University of Brescia, Italy.

Research

Giorgia is passionate about risk and damage assessment of historic structures, seismic vulnerability and retrofitting, tunneling and soil-structure interaction, small scale experimental modelling, centrifuge testing and computational analysis.
