Daniel Wong



Daniel Jang Wong is a Teaching Fellow and the Director of Studies for BSc Architecture.  He is the Coordinator of Years 2 and 3.

Prior to this he ran his design practice degrees51N in Bath, with projects in the housing and cultural/educational sectors. During this time, he was a part-time studio tutor at the Department.

He spent 10 years at Arup Associates in London, where as a Practice Principal, was involved in a wide range of projects recognised as being of merit by the RIBA, the Civic Trust, BCO, and CIBSE.

Before moving to London, he practised for 15 years in both Sydney  and Darwin, Australia, where the focus of his work was on civic and community-based architecture, particularly for the indigenous peoples of North Australia.

He graduated from the University of NSW with First Class Honours and the University Medal.

Daniel is concerned with how place-making can facilitate social well-being, with emphasis on the need to create lasting, democratic and responsible environments.
