About myself

French engineer in numerical methods for applied mathematical problems (ENSEIRB-MATMECA, Talence, France), I am currently in my third year of the PhD studies in the WEIR group.

The main objective of my PhD is to study the wave propagation in the surf zone, using LiDAR technology (laser scanners). The energetic conditions often encountered in the surf zone make it hard to monitor with classic in-situ instrumentation. The wave breaking is a very rapid process, and is therefore hardly measurable in these conditions. Remote-sensing tools and particularly LiDAR technology represent a good opportunity to study the changes in shape that the waves experience during breaking. The project will be using numerical modelling tools as well as extensive field datasets collected during field trips (Rousty, France; Nha Trang, Vietnam; Saltburn, UK; Quintero, Chile).
