Undergraduate Admissions
Year 12 UniTaster
Dates: Monday 19th July - Thursday 22nd July
Participants can choose one curriculum area to focus on throughout the week. Curriculum areas available are: Sports Studies, Bio Sciences and Social Sciences. Teaching methods will include mini-lectures, group discussions, practical hands-on activities, problem solving tasks and lab work.
There will be information and guidance on choosing courses, applying to Higher Education, life as a student and managing student finances.University staff and current uni students will all contribute to this so that you can get as full a picture as possible.
There will also be a wide range of planned leisure activities including a karaoke session, a BBQ, a quiz night, a drumming workshop, and a UniTaster formal Dinner and Party on the final evening.
By the end of the UniTaster, you値l have learnt about different aspects of your chosen curriculum area and the study and career routes associated with that. You値l have had the chance to mix with young people in your situation from all over the South West, you値l have made some new friends and you値l have had the experience of living away from home for a week in a university setting. You値l have demonstrated some teamwork, planning and presentation skills. And we hope you値l take away some memories of an enjoyable, exciting and stimulating week.
