Alumni Reception, House of Lords
17 June 2011, 6.30pm
Following last year's sell-out success, University of Bath alumni were once again invited to attend an exclusive reception at the House of Lords on Friday 17 June 2011. In spite of the wet weather, alumni and guests received a warm welcome. Over 230 University of Bath graduates and friends gathered in the splendid Pugin-wallpapered Peers’ Dining Room, current home to the famous Twisden Portrait of Queen Elizabeth I (George Gower, England, c.1588).
Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés, before hearing
short speeches on University developments from the Rt Hon Lord Tugendhat, the University’s
Chancellor, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Bath alumnus Professor Kevin Edge. Many of those who
attended followed the reception with a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament.
