Organise a reunion
Are you planning a reunion – or thinking about planning one?
The Alumni Relations Team organise lots of reunions and can help you with your own preparations.
“It was wonderful to see so many former students and hear about their jobs in Brussels and across Europe, and about the growing 'Bath network' in and around the EU institutions. It really made me feel proud to be associated with the programme.”
— Dr Susan Milner, who organised a reunion for graduates of the Euromasters programme
Here are a few tips to help you get started:
Plan ahead
If you’re planning for a large group it’s a good idea to allow six months to plan and organise. Choose a date and venue and consider sending out a ‘save the date’ message to gauge interest.
Set a reasonable cost
If you’re asking for contributions or offering an estimate of what the cost will be, make sure to consider food, drink, accommodation and travel.
Depending on the sort of event you plan, you may be asked to provide a deposit so consider if you’re happy to pay this up front yourself, or if you’d like to act as a banker for your friends.
Send invitations
The Alumni Relations Team can send out email invitations on your behalf, and may be able to help with postal invites as well. We maintain a database of over 70,000 graduates of the University and should also be able to help you find anyone you may have lost touch with over the years.
It’s a good idea to set an RSVP deadline to encourage people to get back to you.
Get your friends to help
Two heads are better than one so get everyone who has agreed to come along to tell all of their friends about your reunion and encourage them to come along too.
