Creating a cultural hub

One of our most exciting developments on campus is the addition of a Centre for the Arts. This will be a contemporary venue with modern facilities for creating, developing and performing music, theatre, dance and the visual arts.

We welcome support for the Centre, with a target of raising £3 million by 2016.

Inspiring students’ creativity

As the cultural heart of the campus, we will use the Centre to inspire and nurture students’ creativity.

Deeper engagement with the arts will help Bath students to become more rounded graduates and develop skills vital to their employability. A confident actor can make business presentations more compelling; a talented artist can explain complex ideas imaginatively; dancing in a group or singing in a choir demands discipline, communication and collaboration – qualities that are all vital to success in business and in life.

Enriching the wider community

We play a significant role in the intellectual, social and economic development of Bath and the South West region.

The new Centre will fill a gap in the provision of contemporary arts, creating an ideal place for local people of all ages to nurture talent and experience different art forms. The Centre will also support groups such as schools, choirs, bands and theatre companies who will have access to the facilities for rehearsals, performances and community events.
