Development & Alumni Relations strengthen networks in Switzerland
The
Department of Development & Alumni Relations recently held two alumni receptions in
Switzerland, giving the University’s graduates in Geneva, Zürich and surrounding areas the chance
to meet one another, share stories about their time here and make connections with others in the
Bath network.
On 11 June, Kirsten Buckley and Joanna Sochacka from the Department welcomed alumni to the Uto Kulm hotel, just outside Zürich, where they enjoyed spectacular views as the sun set over the city.
Similarly on 13 June, an outdoor reception was held at the Hotel Kempinksi in Geneva with great views of the Jet d'Eau (at least until the more ‘British’ weather arrived).
On both evenings, alumni enjoyed hearing updates about the University directly from representatives and there were multi-lingual debates about the pros and cons of living and working in Switzerland.
Both groups have made plans to stay in touch, meet up again and continue the debate. Many thanks go to alumni volunteers Cary Adams (BSc Economics with Computing and Statistics 1985, MBA 2002), Daniel Süess (BSc Economics 1979), Ali Tokmen (BSc Computer Science 2005) and Debbie Brown (BSc Business Administration 2005) for their continued support of alumni activity in Switzerland.
The receptions took place as part of a week-long University visit to Switzerland, which aimed to strengthen links between Bath, its graduates living there and corporate contacts. The trip was successful in expanding our international network and more opportunities for Bath alumni and current students alike are in the pipeline.
