Alumni & friends

February 2017 e-news

2016 will be remembered for many things, but, to the University of Bath at least, it was a golden year: the year we celebrated our 50th anniversary.

To commemorate this, we’ve put together a very special edition of BA2, which should be with you soon. In it, we look back at the best of Bath from the last five decades, as well as forward to how discoveries being made here and now could shape our world in the next 50 years. Do let us know what you think of it at

We may have officially marked our anniversary on Tuesday 25 October, but the celebrations are set to continue this year, including our biggest ever alumni reunion on Saturday 6 May, part of the University of Bath Festival. Everyone on campus is getting involved: URB is preparing the music, Team Bath is planning some very special sporting events, and the Students’ Union is helping us recreate a Fresher-style disco in the Tub. We hope you can make it. Why not check if your classmates are going?

2016 was also another great year for our Look Further campaign - support from our alumni and friends has been, as ever, incredible. If you have made a donation, or are considering doing so, you can learn more about how supporting Bath can change lives.

Many of you have been equally generous with your time. Bath Connection, our online networking platform, now has almost 1000 alumni signed up to advise students and graduates on how to get ahead in their career. No wonder we’re ranked 5th for graduate employment by The Guardian University Guide. If you would like to be a part of Bath Connection, email us

To all our wonderful alumni, donors and friends, we’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ for giving us so much to celebrate in 2016. We can’t wait to see what we achieve together in 2017.

With best wishes,

Molly, Rachel, Cassie, Martin, Pippa, Chris and Dan.
