E-news for alumni and friends

September 2015

Summer is nearly over and our newest students will be beginning to wonder what to expect when they join us over the next few weeks.

One thing they can expect is a brilliant student experience. It’s why we came top in the Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey and continued to do well in the National Student Survey this year.
They can also expect top rate teaching. It’s why two of our academics, Dr Christine Edmead (BSc (Hons) Pharmacology w Plcmt 1992) and Dr Momna Hejmadi, were awarded National Teaching Fellowships by the Higher Education Academy, the most prestigious award in university teaching and learning.

And they can expect one of the best Students’ Unions in the country. It’s why it was awarded National Union of Students (NUS) Officer Team of the Year by the NUS and made Internationalised Students’ Union of the Year by the NUS/UK Council for Internal Student Affairs.

It’s hardly any wonder we were one of only a handful of universities who didn’t need to enter Clearing this year.

The University of Bath is now more popular with students - prospective and current - than it has ever been and that is in no small part due to the support of our alumni and friends.

We know our newest cohort will appreciate it once the Freshers’ Week BBQs and toga parties in The Tub have finished and the hard work has begun.

With best wishes,

Molly, Rachel, Julie, Sarah, Laura, Dan and Martin.
