Researchers have developed a new method that can pinpoint the source of infections such as the super-bug MRSA to a single hospital ward.

Bath’s oldest graduate

An 86-year-old man who has dedicated his life to working in education became the oldest person from the University of Bath to receive a degree during the University’s winter graduations.

Gold medal winner is new Director of Sport

Former badminton professional and Commonwealth gold medal winner, Stephen Baddeley, has been appointed as the new Director of Sport at the University of Bath.

New York Chapter Wine Tasting

International Chapter leaders in New York, Jennifer Smith (Business Administration 2002), Rebecca Rossiter (Mathematics & Statistics 2000) and Vivian Ching (Management w/ Finance 2005) are planning a wine tasting event for alumni in the New York City area on 18 March 2010. Tickets, costing approximately $40, will be available shortly, but please email us to register your interest and reserve a place.

Alumni Chapter in Botswana meeting for the first time

Alumni in Botswana are meeting this weekend for the first time to make plans for an International Alumni Chapter. Led by Mmabaledi Seeletso (MA Education 2004) the group will meet in Gabarone to plan what form the Chapter will take. Alumni in the region should look out for more information about upcoming events; if you're interested in being part of the Botswana Chapter, please email us.

Alumni meet up in Dubai

A reception was hosted by Andy Howman, Head of the University’s International Office, for alumni in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on 24 January at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. Alumni had the chance to meet and network with other graduates based in UAE.

Discounted postgraduate courses

The University offers a 10 per cent discount on postgraduate course fees for its alumni, including courses offered by the Division for Lifelong Learning. All graduates from the University of Bath are eligible. To find out more visit departmental websites.
