Pharmacy Centenary Scholarship Fund

One hundred years on from the establishment of the Bristol and West College of Pharmacy and Chemistry, the Department of Pharmacy & Pharmacology is one of the very best departments in the country.

To celebrate its centenary, and build on those excellent foundations, a Scholarship Fund was created. It is already a third of the way towards its £500,000 target. The Scholarship is aimed at the best and brightest students, to continue in the tradition of those who have come before.

My life and time during my first year at Bath have been fantastic. It gives me great pride to be the beneficiary of the very first Pharmacy Centenary Scholarship, which has been possible thanks to the generosity of alumni. The Scholarship is important obviously due to the financial considerations but also because it represents a continuous challenge to myself – can I live up to the standards of excellence that have been set?

— Jonathan Webber (Pharmacy 2008-11), Pharmacy Centenary Scholar

You reach a point in your career when you become a little more reflective and think about the people, places and times that have influenced and helped you. The University of Bath encapsulates all of those for me and I hope my support of the Pharmacy Centenary Fund will help future generations of students enjoy the same fantastic opportunities that my Bath education continues to offer me.

— Professor Anthony Smith (BPharm 1983, PhD 1987)

I have such happy memories of university life. I was delighted to hear about the Pharmacy Centenary Scholarship Fund and knew that by contributing to the fund I could help future generations of Pharmacy students. I hope many others will also support it.

— Bharat Shah (BPharm 1971)
