For 40 years, our highly regarded Powertrain and Vehicle Research Centre (PVRC) has been conducting prize-winning automotive research. In the last 20 years, it has delivered nearly 100 business-led experimental projects worth £24m.
In recognition of the University as one of the UK’s leading automotive propulsion groups, Bath was selected as a Spoke of the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC).
The APC helps form partnerships between those who have good low carbon propulsion ideas and those who can bring them to market.
As an APC Spoke, Bath forms a centre of excellence in the South West, specialising in internal combustion engines systems efficiency.
It’s a reflection of our expertise, capability, network of academic and industrial partners and recognised standing in this field.
This new facility will help us build on and continue this momentum.
Our list of industry partners is extensive and impressive and this facility will enable such relationships to continue and grow.
We look to lead the charge in making the UK a powerhouse in the global automotive propulsion industry.
