Combined offers

If you have an offer for a taught postgraduate degree at the University of Bath, you may be eligible for a combined offer of admission.

What are combined offers?

A combined offer means the ten-week or five-week Pre-sessional course is combined with your actual postgraduate degree, making a fourteen-month or thirteen-month course. This means:

  • you only need one Tier 4 visa and CAS
  • you have increased choice for IELTS test centres as SELT is not normally required
  • you can go straight from your Pre-sessional English course to your taught postgraduate degree course on completion of the first ten weeks (PSC) or five weeks (PSD).

If your IELTS score (or equivalent) is within a 0.5 band of the entry requirements for your degree programme (overall and in each of the four components), then you may be eligible for a five-week Pre-sessional combined offer.

If your IELTS score (or equivalent) is within a 1.0 band of the entry requirements for your degree programme (overall and in each of the four components), then you may be eligible for a ten-week Pre-sessional combined offer. Please note that if require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK, you will need to hold an IELTS (or equivalent) of at least 5.5 overall and no less than 5.5 in all four components to be considered for the 10-week combined offer. If your English is not at this level, please email us to find out about other options.

You must also have an offer for a taught postgraduate degree programme at the University and be able to meet all the non-language conditions of your degree programme a minimum of five weeks before the start of your Pre-sessional course.

How to apply

If you are interested in this option and require further guidance on eligibility, please contact your Graduate School Admissions Office.

Please note that you should not apply to the ASC for a combined offer as only your Graduate School can make these offers.
