Want to receive a £15 Amazon voucher? Participate in a skills focus group

Thu Nov 17 08:00:00 GMT 2016

Have you participated in one of the University's or Students' Union's skills development courses or workshops? If you have, we would like to hear from you. We are currently reviewing our skills development opportunities for students to find ways of enhancing our provision. In order to help us understand and inform how we can make it easier for you to find the right opportunities at the right time, we are running a series of focus groups.

We are seeking undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate taught (PGT) students*. Each focus group will last for one hour. We will give you an Amazon voucher of £15.00 in return for your participation and will also provide refreshments.

*Students who have taken, or are currently taking classes, workshops or tutorials offered by the University (Academic Skills Centre; Writing Centre; Careers; Library; MASH; Foreign Languages Centre; Researcher Development Unit) and/or the Students’ Union Skills Training Programme.

We are running our focus groups at the following times on these dates:

Undergraduate students

  • Tuesday 29 November 2016 - 17.30-18.30
  • Wednesday 30 November 2016 - 13.15-14.15

Postgraduate Taught students

  • Tuesday 29 November 2016 - 16.15-17.15
  • Thursday 1 December 2016 - 16.15-17.15

To sign up for one of our focus groups, please email Ruth Robins, Skills Administrator, stating which date and time you can attend together with:

  • the name of your academic programme
  • your year
  • whether you are a Home or International student
  • what skills development opportunities you have, or are currently, participating in.
