The creation of a new company or ‘spin-out’ can be the best vehicle for really high value opportunities, especially where there is a ‘platform technology’ with the potential for multiple applications. As an opportunity approaches the point at which it is ready to spin-out (or license), Bath Ventures will engage and work together with Intellectual Property & Legal Services to advise, negotiate and draft related legal agreements.

Bath Ventures has the resources and expertise it takes to turn research into successful companies and, for selected opportunities, can provides companies created from the University’s IP with staged finance via its Enterprise Development Fund, University of Bath Seed Fund, and from its later stage funding partner, the IP Group.
