For Staff: The Commercialisation Process
STAGE 1
After a preliminary discussion between the inventor and Bath Venture’s Technology Transfer Manager - see Contacts - about potential idea for commercial exploitation the decision made to write an Invention Disclosure will be made and enter the staged Bath Ventures Commercialisation Process which is recorded throughout on the RISe database.
Stage 1. Preliminary Opportunity Evaluation
The Invention Disclosure form is completed by the inventor with Bath Venture’s support. A paper-based technical, IP and commercial assessment is undertaken with external input as needed, e.g. patent agent and industry expert views. An initial scoping of resources required to prove concept in technical and business terms and an Evaluation Report at this stage will inform Bath Venture’s Go/No-Go decision on taking the project to Stage 2.
