Cell biology

cell biology Final

The Cell Biology Theme addresses mechanistic questions associated with cell function and specialisation. Expertise within the theme is directed towards a molecular understanding of fundamental areas of cell biology including cell-cell interaction, cytokinesis, membrane traffic, compartmentalisation of cell components and cell signalling.

Experimental systems include yeast, flies and mammalian cells. There is a particular focus on cell biology questions associated with further understanding of hormone action on membrane traffic, kinase, phosphatase and G-protein signalling pathways and cellular processes relevant to human disease including cancer and diabetes.
