BUCS Service Desk
The Service Desk is your first point of contact with BUCS - we are here to give help and advice to enable you to get the most out of the facilities BUCS provides. The Service Desk is available to all undergraduates, postgraduates and members of staff at the University of Bath and provides help with computing queries, including:
- Registration of new users
- Changing forgotten passwords
- Providing help with PC and UNIX software
- Reporting faulty Library PCs
- Resnet, Docking and Wireless (eduroam) queries
- Usb drive virus checking is available at the Help Desk while you wait
- Queries may also be raised via the web form
- Laptop Clinics - A bookable service to assist with problems that aren't easily solvable at the Service Desk
- Assistance with access to shared drives and printers
- Help with VPN setup
- General IT related questions
- Diagnosis of hardware problems
The Service Desk staff aim to solve your queries; where this is not possible, your query will be referred to BUCS support specialists who have expertise in specific areas.
The Service Desk's role also involves liaising with other groups within BUCS.
If you have a problem with the Management Information Systems (MIS) your first point of contact will be the MIS Service Desk.
