The basics of networking involve connecting several computers to each other thereby creating a network where you can send and receive files from the different connected computers.

You can also connect your own computer to the University campus network called. There are three ways to get your computer connected:
Docking
Docking involves physically connecting your laptop computer to one of the publicly available docking stations. You need to have an ethernet card and an ethernet cable, which can be bought at the campus computer shop located on level 2 in the Library. For more information go to the 'Docking' pages.
Wireless
In order to be able to connect your laptop computer wirelessly to the campus network, your computer needs wireless functionality. Read more about it on the 'Wireless' page...
ResNet
ResNet is the residential network. It is separate from the campus network but gives you access to the same services. You need to live in University accommodation and apply to be able to use ResNet. Campus computer shop
The campus computer shop located on level 2 in the Library sells all the necessary bits and pieces that you will need to get your computer networking.
