If you are using a Windows computer you can click on the appropriate link below, which will download a file and automatically setup a VPN connection and drive mapping for you.

Windows 7 64bit: Automatic Setup University of Bath VPN
once downloaded and run, you should see a box similar to the image below, please fill in your BUCS username and password and click connect.
A black command prompt window will then appear, similar to below, click on the window, you will be prompted to enter your password two more times:
Once this has completed you will be connected to the University network and you will have access to the X: drive and your personal drive (normally H: but mapped as Z: to avoid conflicts with other devices on many home computers).
When you disconnect the X: and Z: drives will disappear, and each time you reconnect to "University of Bath VPN" you will be prompted for your password again and the drives will automatically be remapped.
