Getting connected
In order to connect your computer to the University of Bath network your computer will need either a wireless card or an ethernet card, depending on the type of connection you wish to make.
All registered members of the University have access to the following connections:
- Wireless - if you have a laptop with wireless functionality you can connect to the network anywhere on campus.
- Docking - connect your laptop to the network at any of the available docking stations
- Connect from home - if you have broadband internet at home you can connect to University online services (some services may require using Virtual Private Network (VPN))
If you live in University accommodation you will have access to:
- ResNet - the residential network. If you live on campus or other University accommodation you can connect your own PC to the university network free of charge.
If you work in a University office, your computer should be setup automatically when installed. You should contact your local support if you have a new computer or want to move the computer to a new office
