Connecting more than one device to Resnet

There are several ways of connecting more than one device to Resnet, depending on the functionality you require:

  1. Using a Switch
  2. Swapping Devices

Each option explains why you might want to use it, and how it can be implemented, along with any additional equipment that you will need to purchase at your own expense. If you require further information, or to connect more than five devices, please contact resnet@bath.ac.uk, stating the option you are trying to use.

Option 1: Using a Switch

Who?

This option is best suited for you if you wish to use more than one device on Resnet simultaneously. Some rooms have two sockets fitted which are both active. In rooms with only one socket fitted or in two socket rooms if you wish to use three or more devices, you may use a network switch.

How?

For up to five devices you do not need to contact us.
