Options available for running Matlab

Following users experiencing a number of issues using Matlab in 2011, we have improved our documentation outlining the most suitable options available for running Matlab.

While on Campus: Matlab can be used either in the library on Library Level 2 and 5, or in the following GTA Labs 3E3.1, 1E3.9, 2E1.14, E0.09. Teaching and coursework submission should be done via these PCs.

Remote Access: Staff and students off-site should use Gigaterms to connect to Matlab. To provide a reliable service to all users the number of connections is limited, this will be monitored and changed to reflect the demand on the system, so this method is not suited to teaching or coursework submissions.

Matlab in a Linux environment: Matlab on LCPU can be used either on or off campus, but individual jobs are limited to 15 CPU hours by default.

On your computer: Matlab can be installed on the personal workstations of staff and postgraduate students (not undergraduate). Contact Your local IT supporter for more information.
