BUCS YouGuru employee wins

Bath University Computing Services (BUCS) is proud of Alex Loughlin's input into the BUCS YouGuru Online Help Community and Sthiven Murcia's PC Checking...

BUCS Director Andrew Lee and colleagues went to the Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) awards.  Congratulations to both Alex (Information Provision under Naomi Eastman) and Sthiven (PC Checking under Graham Ryan) for being nominated (in separate categories) as Student Employee of the Year.

Alex won his category and his name goes forward to the regional nominations and, we hope from there, the national nominations.  Alex was hired to help populate the BUCS YouGuru forum.

Our students and staff are embracing the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) development in technology.   The trend of users bringing their own personally-owned mobile devices to the university requires different solutions to provide IT support.  The BUCS YouGuru Online Help Community is one solution.

BUCS YouGuru is a forum that stakeholders at the university can use to ask questions about the tools that they own.  It is a forum to enable users to solve queries they may have when using Linux, Mac, Games Consoles and Smart phones.
