Panopto Coursecast Updates

Over the summer BUCS Audio Visual (AV) have updated the Panopto server to 4.2, bringing some new features and improved stability.

As part of this, AV updated the Panopto lecture room recorder software on all the Lecture Room PCs yesterday, 8 August 2012 at 5pm.  We do not anticipate that there will be any impact to end users in lecture rooms. If any issues are observed please contact a.v.bookings@bath.ac.uk or raise a ticket with BUCS helpdesk.

If you already have a previous version installed on an active directory, staff PC you will need to contact your IT supporter to update the client otherwise the recorder will display a "Recorder version out of date" message (see below) - please do not try to install the application yourself.

New Features

Amongst the new features available there is now a Panopto app for Apple iOS devices which allows end users to record, upload and manage content using iPod touches, iPhones and iPads.  This is now available from the App Store.

More information on using this will be available shortly at the BUCS AV lecture capture pages.
