Matt goes the extra mile...
Matt Dales from the BUCS SAMIS team won the "Brutal" double ultra triathlon in North Wales over the weekend 22/23 September 2012.
He won the race in 32 hours 39 mins, nearly four hours ahead of the second competitor.
Matt said "My feet and ankles are a bit swollen, but otherwise I seem OK".
The Brutal is one of the hardest double ultra distance races in the world. It includes:
- Swimming 4.8 miles in Lake Padarn
- Cycling 231 miles around Snowdonia
- Running 52 miles, finishing with a climb up Snowdon
Rumours that he hasn't looked so exhausted since working on Undergraduate confirmation and clearing in August are entirely unfounded.
