Students registering currently not getting access to IT services
Update - Thursday 27 September - both the additional manual and normal automated process ran correctly last night. All students who had correctly registered before midnight last night should now have general IT access.
The systems here are still running at risk, but we are continuing to monitor the issue, and will intervene as soon as possible should further problems occur. If we do encounter any further problems students may again see a delay between registering and access to IT Services. Please report any problems to our Service Desk team in the Library.
Students that were registering with SAMIS, yesterday, Wednesday 26 September 2012, were not getting automatically issued with access to IT services at the University.
This was due to problems synchronising changes from SAMIS (the registration portal) and our systems that grant access to other IT services.
We were aware of the issue and worked on a number of ways to solve this problem. Due to the length of time these solutions took (several hours) we did not have a clear estimated time for fixing this. However we have made some changes and attempted a run last night, in addition to the usual run overnight.
We will updated this news item (Thursday 27).
We are sorry for any disruption this may cause.
