New IT Service Desk Open
The new, customer orientated, student designed Computing Services (BUCS) Service Desk and Computer Shop is open in Library, Level 2.
Our friendly Service Desk and Computer Shop team provide a first point of contact for students and staff with any IT related problems. This comprehensive service is unique to our university.
We now offer this service in a larger, more welcoming space. The open plan facilities enable us to take customers to a seating area where they can be helped, without the pressure of a queue building up behind them. It also enables our team to divide their time more effectively between customers and in doing so provide the best service possible.
The space is split into 3 distinct sections; the Computer Shop, Student Help Desk and the Staff Service Desk. Each area has been designed to meet the needs of the customers.
The redesign work took place during summer 2012. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Kevin Edge, opened the space with a ribbon cutting ceremony, Thursday 20 September 2012. The students who won the design competition, Patrick McEvoy and Zeifeng Wei were able to attend.
Please come and visit us in the Library, Level 2. We are open Monday to Friday: 9am to 4.45pm (please note, we open at 10am on Wednesdays).
