Automatic log off on Library PCs
Computing Services (BUCS) rolled out an automatic PC log off system in the Library, Friday
20 September 2012. To ensure that you do not lose any of your work. Please be
diligent and save all your work before you leave a library workstation for any length of time.
When users logon to the library computers they will get a warning message advising them about this new feature.
If they leave a PC idle for 10 minutes a countdown will start. This countdown will continue for 15 minutes if the computer remains idle they will be logged off automatically after a total of 25 minutes of inactivity. All unsaved work will be lost.
This new feature was requested by the Students Union to improve PC access for all students in the library.
