Email service upgrade Nov 2012
We are moving mailboxes to a new email server throughout November, starting 12 November 2012. This maintenance will take place overnight between 10pm and 7am. An email will be sent directly to those whose mailboxes are being moved prior to the maintenance.
We have piloted this move within Computing Services and found there to be no effect to email.
However, those that leave their computers on overnight will lose connection to their mailboxes resulting in them disappearing. If this happens you will simply need to log-out and restart your email client to re-connect. To avoid this you can close your email client (e.g. Thunderbird, Mail for Mac, Outlook) at the end of your working day.
This work is part of an on-going project to improve our email service.
