Microsoft Visual Studio available to all
Microsoft Visual Studio is available to all staff & students. It is licensed under the Microsoft "Campus Agreement"*.
Student Access
If you wish to use Visual Studio you have a number of options available:
- acces it through UniDesk and if you wish to work off campus, use our UniDesk Gateway.
- check with your department's IT supporter as certain Labs and campus computers have Visual Studio available
- download it for free onto your own machine via Dreamspark
Staff Access
If you wish to use Visual Studio you have a number of options available:
- request Visual Studio on your campus work station by contacting the service desk.
- access it through UniDesk and if you wish to work off campus, use our UniDesk Gateway.
- download it for free onto your own machine via Dreamspark
In the past Visual Studio was not available to all students and we are pleased that there is now increased availability since our renewal of the Microsoft Campus Agreement.
* Please note - the Microsoft Campus Agreement allows you to use the software for educational purposes only. The use of software for the University's commercial purposes and work of direct benefit to the employer of students on work placement is not allowed.
