Who can attend this course?

These IT training courses are for University of Bath staff and are not available to members of the general public or external organisations.

Options for Postgraduate's

Postgraduate students from the University of Bath can attend BUCS IT Training sessions for a fee of £10.00 per three hour session, alternatively if you are a research postgraduate, you might like to check out the EndNote courses being run as part of the Postgraduate Skills Training programme.

Group sessions

We are also able to organise departmental small group sessions for both staff and postgraduate students wishing to learn the Endnote package. If you feel this would be more appropriate to you then please contact us via email.

Introduction to End Note X6

This course will cover:

  • Navigation
  • Using the Groups pane
  • EndNote preferences
  • Manually creating new references
  • Searching your EndNote library
  • Exporting & printing lists of references
  • Dealing with duplicate references
  • Using Term Lists
  • Backing up the library
  • Using Cite While You Write
  • Using Manuscript Template Wizard

End Note X6 Level 2

This course will cover:

  • Editing Output Styles
  • Searching online databases from within EndNote
  • Downloading references from electronic journals

According to the subject interests of trainees, there will be opportunities to download references from any of the following: AgeInfo; Astrophysics Data System; Beilstein; Biomed Central; Citeseer; Cochrane Library; Compendex; Dialog Datastar Education Indexes; EBSCO Host research databases; ECLAS; Emerald; House of Commons Parliamentary Papers; IEEE; JSTOR; MathSciNet; Ovid databases; Project Muse; PsyArticles; RSC Publishing Databases; Sage Journals Online; Science Direct; SIAM Journals Online; Social Care Online; ToxNet; United States Department of Energy Databases; Web of Knowledge; Wiley InterScience; Zetoc.
