Refresh a report
- The report that you retrieve from the Corporate Documents area will show old data from a randomly selected department.
- To see current data for your own department you need to refresh the report.
- Click the 'Refresh' button on the 'Standard' toolbar to update your report.
- An 'Enter or Select Values' dialog box will appear, which asks you to select the relevant values for your report.
- Click into the boxes to enter your own criteria.
- Click OK.
- Business Objects will re-query the database and produce a new copy of the report.
- You can edit and save new copies of the report if you wish to.
- When entering the values for your report, you can often choose from a list of values by clicking the 'Values' button on the right hand side of the 'Enter or Select Values' dialog box.
- In Business Objects the wildcard is the percentage symbol.
- If you enter the wildcard as part of your criteria, this represents any number of unknown characters.
- See the example above where U% stands for all undergraduates.
- Re-open and refresh each of your reports.
- Practice using the 'Values' button.
- Where applicable, practice using the wildcard.
