Rules for using public access computers
Do:
- Save all your files to "My Documents". The "Recycle Bin" follows this folder so you can restore a deleted files
- Empty your "Recycle Bin" regularly and before asking for more space
Do not:
- Don't lock the computer. This is a Denial of Service and constitutes a Band 1 offence
- Don't leave the computer unattended for more than 15 minutes. It will be rebooted and you may lose your work
- Don't edit anything in the H:\Profiles_Do_Not_Delete folder. This contains your application settings and you may cause yourself problems if you touch these
- Don't create any folders or files on the C: drive except for temporary use. They are deleted when the computer is rebooted
- Don't delete files off the Desktop unless you are sure you don't need them. Desktop deletions don't go into the "Recycle Bin". Desktop items can be restored if they are more than a day old
