Publish your agenda to the world
If you would like people without Oracle Calendar accounts outside the University, or within the University, such as Undergraduates, to view your Agenda, this is possible using the web version.
To make your Agenda viewable to the world:
- Log in to the Calendar web client (this link opens a separate browser window so you can still follow these instructions in another window)
- Click the Preferences icon (second icon on top right of the screen)
- Click the Security tab
- Tick Allow Global Agenda Viewing
- Click OK in the top right of the screen; this takes you back to your Agenda
- You will now see a link called E-Mail Agenda above your Agenda on the right, click this
- It is recommended you email this to yourself at first to see what it will look like
- When you receive the email, you can click on the link and see what you get; you can then forward this link onto anyone you choose
Some notes on the emailed link
- The link that is emailed to you by the web software will always default to Week View
- You can get a link that shows as a Day View or Month View by going to the link and adding: &view=day
or: &view=month to the end of the URL. If another part of the URL contains view= then just edit that part - The link will always go to the current week by default - so if you click on the same link in two weeks' time the user will see the current week's activities. This makes it handy to add the link to your web page if you choose
- To get a link that shows a specific day go to your Global Agenda using the link emailed to you and move to that day you are interested in (using the arrows at the top of the page or the mini calendar beneath the Agenda). You can take a copy of that URL to send to people about a specific week or day
- Your Calendar by default shows all your events as Busy. If you want users to see the names of the Meetings you own, you need to set those Meetings as Public. You can do this if you created the Meeting, but otherwise you will not be able to change this
- Just because you have published your Agenda it is not possible for someone to see it unless you give them the link. This means your privacy is not compromised. However, once someone knows the link to your Global Agenda they will always have access to it; you cannot change the address of the link
An example Agenda
The Security Office use the Global Agenda View for anyone on campus to be able to view Security's commitments. You can see their online diary at any time from this link: University Events diary.
Publishing the Agenda of a Resource
It is possible to publish the Agenda of a Resource in exactly the same way as for a single person but it needs to be enabled by the Calendar Administrator because Resources cannot log into the web client.
Once the Resource's Global Agenda View has been enabled, you can access its Agenda by logging into the web client as yourself, viewing that Resource's Agenda and sending yourself the necessary links.
If you wish to enable the Global Agenda View for a Resource, please email calendarmaster@bath.ac.uk stating the name(s) of the Resource(s) you wish to enable Global Agenda Viewing for.
