Getting your mobile device to sync with Oracle Calendar
Most smartphones and tablets can sync to Oracle Calendar. If you have any questions about syncing your device with Oracle Calendar please email contact BUCS support.
Device notes
Please note the following regarding specific devices:
- Android phones
The recommended app for Android devices is Synthesis SyncML which integrates with the phone's calendar - iPhone/iPad
It is not possible to recommend a full solution app however it is possible to use Tasks+Cal+Sync which uses a separate calendar. There are instructions for setting up Tasks+Cal on an iOS device. - Nokias
Several Nokia models come with built-in support for OMA-DS which makes them ideal candidates. Note however that several Nokia devices support OMA-DS but do not support secure connections. We insist on secure connections to all University services (to protect your account) so ensure your device can handle this
Connection parameters
Here are the details you need to connect to the Oracle Calendar server:
| Section | Value |
|
Server address:
|
https://calendar.bath.ac.uk/ocst-bin/ocas.fcgi |
|
Events server path:
|
./Calendar/Events |
| Tasks server path: |
./Calendar/Tasks
|
| Contacts server path: |
./Contacts
|
If you are asked for a 'Server Version' please specify 1.2 or 1.1 rather than 1.0. This appears to be the case for Nokia phones.
