Installing Oracle Calendar on your Pocket PC
These instructions explain how to synchronize your Pocket PC with Oracle Calendar.
You must have Microsoft ActiveSync installed in order to begin the set up process.
Depending on the device you have, you may have a copy of Microsoft ActiveSync that you need to install before installing the Calendar Sync client. If you do not have a copy of ActiveSync on CD you can download the latest Microsoft release. Microsoft ActiveSync download page
Install and configure "Oracle Calendar Sync for Pocket PC" on your PC
- Download the installer from here: Windows Pocket PC installer
- OR navigate to: G:\calendar\SyncClients\Windows\Pocket_PC\cal_syncppc_win_1012.exe
and double-click the icon - Click Next to start, and Next again to install in the default folder
- Choose the Complete option and click Next and Install
- When prompted, install the Oracle Calendar Sync Helper Files
- Enter the following information at the Settings page:
- User: Your forename and surname (eg. Jane Jones)
- Password: The usual BUCS password
- Server: calendar.bath.ac.uk
- Node: leave this empty
- Click on the Date Book entry on the left and then on the Date Range section.
- Select suitable date ranges to sync, if you are unsure what would be suitable choose 1 week in the past and 3 months in the future
You can change these settings later.
Synchronise
- Open Microsoft ActiveSync and synchronize, following the instructions.
