If you are bringing your own PC, Mac or mobile device to University you might want to take advantage of some of the services we offer.
Connect your computer to the University network
If you are on Campus and have a University user account it is free to connect to the internet. All you need to do is follow the instructions on the Networking section of this website.
If you are not on campus, you can still connect to the network using a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
Virus Checking
You must use an anti-virus program at all times if you are connected to the University network. You can download Sophos Anti-virus free of charge.
You also need to make sure your computer has the latest updates installed to avoid being fined.
Already connected?
Maybe you are already connected to the University network. In this case you may want to know how to
- Set up printing - you can send your documents to printers in the library
- Set up email - configure your email application to receive email sent to your University email account
- Store files - file storage allows you to store your files so you can access them anywhere you are (as long as you have an internet connection)
