Free NHS Workshops on Stress Reduction and Worry Management

Free workshops are being run on campus by the NHS during December and January on Stress Reduction and Worry Management.

Are you feeling stressed or worried?

Colleagues from the NHS are coming to campus in December and January to run two workshops. If you are affected by stress or worry have a look at the details below.

Stress Reduction Workshop

This free workshop aims to help you understand stress and introduces Cognitive Behavioural Theory as a method of effectively reducing stress levels.

Topics covered include:

  • understanding general stress

  • understanding causes and maintenance of stress

  • physical symptoms of stress

  • techniques for managing stress

This is a taught workshop, run in a group format and there will be some group discussion and group exercises – although participation in these is optional.

The workshop will run for one session held on Monday 4 December 2017 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

Worry Management Workshop

This free workshop aims to help you understand worry and introduces Cognitive Behavioural Theory as a method of effectively managing worry.

Topics covered include:

  • what is worry?

  • introduction to two types of worry

  • worry time

  • problem solving for practical worries

This is a taught workshop, run in a group format and there will be some group discussion and group exercises – although participation in these is optional.

This workshop will run for one session held on Wednesday 10 January 2018 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
