A range of science subjects taught to the highest standard

Every year more than 500 science students go on a placement.

We offer students a wide range of degree courses across our academic departments:

We also offer a course in Natural Sciences that combines subjects from across these departments.

Excellent teaching, learning and research

The 2016 National Student Survey showed our students have a satisfaction rate of 90%. This is four points above the national average. The results emphasise our excellent teaching and the quality of our learning resources.

The excellence of Bath’s research was also highlighted in REF2014, the national system for assessing the quality of research.

Physics student Lydia Rudge went on placement at Daresbury Laboratory

Before my placement, I wasn’t 100% sure if I wanted a job in physics research or in a different area entirely. My placement gave me the hands-on experience to help me make that decision.

Interact with our students early in their development

You can begin to work with our students as early as their first year through our development programme.

You will come to the University to run training sessions based around key employability skills. This will help our students develop skills they will need to be productive and successful when on placement with your organisation.

The session's content can include key skills such as team working, presentations and project management or topics such as application processes and assessment centres.

These sessions are a formal and important part of our students’ degree courses, and are mandatory for all placement students.

We run specialised programmes for each science department to ensure you have access to students relevant to your business.
