Car parking

March 2013 update

East Car Park partial closure and new car park opens

From Saturday 23 March 2013 a section in the north of the East Car Park will be permanently closed so that work can start on the new student accommodation complex.

The remaining sections of the East Car Park will be changed for permit holder use only. The new extension car park will be for University visitors who wish to use the Pay & Display facilities, although permit holders can also use it if they display a valid permit.

The car park can be accessed by driving to the south-east end of the East Car Park and turning right through the open gates.

The new car park extension will initially have low level lighting and therefore we advise that it should only be used between 7am and 6pm for your safety.

There are three new Pay & Display machines in the extension car park which accept credit/debit cards as well as cash. Charges will remain the same.

Current changes

  • The west section of K car park, near Brendon Court, will not be available until October 2013 as it is being used as a base for 1 West contractor's cabins.
  • The estates car park, which is by the estates building and accessed from the North Access Road, will not be available until September 2013.
