Succeed in the selection process: psychometric assessments

How can I prepare and improve?

Have a go. Practise aptitude tests and complete personality and values questionnaires online and receive emailed feedback report.

To improve further , use our information resources to find further examples of those areas you struggled with and for examples of tests other than verbal and numerical. Information resources include: books, leaflets, files and further software on PCs in CAS and we have many links to online resources.

You might need to refresh your Maths. This is a common issue so our information resources cover this too. You could also use the services provided by MASH – a University resource centre to help all students with their Maths and Statistics.

To practice further under test conditions attend one of our classroom practice tests Bath Campus only. These are run by a qualified tester and include a short one to one feedback session within a few days of taking the tests.

Further guidance on tests

If you have any questions or would like guidance from a careers adviser on aptitude tests, you could attend a drop-in session. The careers adviser could go through a sample question with you, to help you understand what the test is designed to do, but please note that we are not able to go through whole test papers or provide coaching for aptitude tests.

The British Psychological Society has a Psychological Testing Centre which includes a public area with information on good practice in Psychological Testing.
