Find further study: getting advice
- Careers advisers can help you consider the pros and cons of postgraduate study, and tell you how particular courses could affect your employability. Call in or ring us on 01225 386009 to make an appointment.
- For any course, you can approach the admissions tutor informally if you have particular questions which aren't answered in the literature.
- Academic staff in your department are often very helpful and knowledgeable, especially about PhDs. They can sometimes suggest colleagues in other universities to contact, and will tell you what the chances are of staying at Bath, if that's your preference.
- The National Postgraduate Committee is a good source for finding out more about life as a postgraduate. The NPC site includes 'Postgraduate Facts and Issues', details of the 'Postgrad' email group and a links directory. For research degrees, email groups related to your field of interest could also be useful for making contacts and hearing about funding.
