Finding a job -
this helpsheet has tips for jobhunting in the Bath/Bristol area,
including how to search for local jobs in MyFuture.

Register online to access hundreds of graduate jobs in the south west. These will include vacancies which are additional to those found on MyFuture. Some regional employers only advertise using gradsouthwest.com, so do register to ensure you are gaining access to the maximum number of opportunities. You can opt in to receive email alerts if desired.
The site also contains lots of information about working in the south west and is provided by HE Careers Services across the region.

West member directory
Browse A-Z by company name or search by business type. Business West covers the region comprising Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
- DEVELOP Enhancing Community Support
Organisation working with local voluntary organisations and community groups. Includes list of member organisations, and voluntary and community jobs page. Covers Wiltshire and Bath & North East Somerset.
- Gloucestershire Graduate Challenge-4 month placement
Four-month paid work experience programme for graduates living in Gloucestershire.
- Local authorities in and near Bath: many of these local authorities have their vacancy bulletins available online. Their sites might also have information to help you research possible locations for working or studying.
- Searching the database for local employers
(Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire)
In order to search for local employers, change the Status from 'Current' to 'All'. Under Location you can enter a city of choice or select from the dropdown list next to 'Region' which region of the UK you are interested in. Click 'Search' at the bottom of the page and a list of current and expired vacancies from the city and/or region selected will be listed.
- South West
of England Regional Development Agency
Government agency site with economic background on the region, information on business sectors and a links section. As all RDAs are to close by March 2012, work and ongoing projects are being transfered to other organisations. In the meantime, this site remains available.
Site to help promote the use of evidence in the region's policy making, which is also a resource for business, schools, students and the general public. You can search by geographical location or subject - subjects include 'Business and economy' and 'Learning, skills and employment'.
- Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP)
Arranges paid graduate placements in Cornish businesses, as well as graduate business start-up suppport.
- AGCAS Scotland
Graduate careers website for Scotland. Useful resource for Scottish students returning home or any student interested in employment in Scotland.
- Carmarthenshire County Council - Jobs and Careers
For anyone thinking of working for the Council there is a list of job vacancies and application guidance notes to help with the application process.
- Discover Carmarthenshire A detailed guide to living in Carmarthenshire, with places to visit, food and drink guide and other information on leisure activities in the area.
- EVOLVE - Recession support for Norfolk
Graduates in the county can access individual diagnostic sessions and small group coaching, as well as the opportunity to gain work experience as an intern.

- Go Wales
Work placements for students and graduates in businesses in Wales. You must be living or studying in Wales. Provided through a partnership of higher education institutions in Wales.
Also offer the Graduate Academy, a free training programme designed to provide recent graduates living in Wales with the skills and support needed to meet the challenge of obtaining graduate employment.
- GOV.UK find your local council
Graduate recruitment service dedicated to the East of England. Working in partnership with the region's University Careers Services, offer a range of recruitment related services.
A free service for students and graduates promoting employment opportunities in the county.
Graduate Accelerator Programme - Liverpool John
Programme of workshops for unemployed/under employed UK or EU graduates whose home address is in Merseyside. At present this programme is due to continue until September 2011. Please check the website.

- Graduate Gateway - Loughborough University
Accelerated work experience and learning on a professional business assignment. For graduates living in Derbyshire, Leicestershire or Nottinghamshire.
